With their morning and evening classes, you can start or finish your day with outdoor yoga overlooking Bondi Beach. Not a bad way to clear the mind at the beginning or end of each day. An indoor class is also held at Tamarama and the schedule alternates between Yin and Yang yoga. Check their website for the class-times.

This school practices Vinyasa variations of Hatha Yoga, which is basically a flowing style of yoga. They combine their classes with meditation, pranayama and chanting too. They also do Kid’s Yoga classes.


Pilates Physique

One of the best Pilates studios around. They offer group classes, semi-private, and private classes. Try the circuit which is a combination of Power Plate and Reformer. There is also a creche.

For people who don’t like gyms, because Elixir feels different to your ordinary one. All three clubs offer yoga, pilates (mat and reformer) and kickboxing classes. Bondi Junction is the ‘premier club’, with a 25m heated pool and extra classes including aqua-aerobics, regular aerobics and spin. You can go along and try out a class before becoming a member.

A pool and gym with the best location in Sydney. Take the pain out of a personal training session on the balcony where the view and sea air should ease your struggles somewhat. A membership gives you unlimited access to the pool and sauna all year round.


Cycling in Centennial Park

Take a serious or leisurely ride around Centennial Park’s Grand Drive, a 3.5 kilometer track which is relatively flat and leads you around the entire perimeter of the park. There is a dedicated cycling lane, so you don’t need to worry about cars. There’s also a Learner’s Cycleway for the kids.

Build and balance out your muscle strength with indoor rock-climbing. Even if you can’t make it part of your exercise routine, it’s a fun activity to do once in a while.


Rushcutters Bay Park

A beautiful location to walk, run, or train. Extremely popular amongst locals, you will see people working out here at all times of the day (including lots of the very eager and scary Monday 6am-ers). Various boot camp and training programs operate down here.
