People of Sydney! You are invited to witness Australian street dancers go head-to-head in a heated battle for the prestigious title of the best b-boy and dance crew at the most anticipated event on the breaking calendar this year.

B-boys and b-girls across the country are in the final stages of training as Shadow Wars – The Final Jam prepares to hit Sydney’s Cockatoo Island on Saturday 3rd December where more than 20 crews of up to 15 members will aim to perfect moves where body architecture meets discipline and stamina.

In addition to the crew battles, it’s Australia versus the world in the one-on-one battles where 16 b-boys from across the globe have been carefully selected and invited to compete against each other for the title. Event organiser and the Co-Director, Rush Wepiha, said this is Australia’s time to shine.

“Aussie b-boys and b-girls are known for their personality and originality so I’m really looking forward to seeing what our dancers bring on the day. The vibe and atmosphere is going to be fun and intense so it’s an event not to miss this summer,” Rush said.

Accomplished dancers Flea Roc (USA), B-boy Wing (REDBULL BCONE WORLD CHAMPION) (Korea) and B-boy ORB (USA) all have the tough job of picking out the winners.“We’re looking for dancers who have the whole package. They must not only dance on beat, have an outstanding variety of steps, power moves and transitions, but also possess confidence, stage presence and battle skills,”Flea Roc said.Shadow Wars, sponsored by Red Bull Australia, is an exciting and innovative event that represents breaking in its true form. Spectators will not only enjoy the excitement and intensity of the b-boy battles, but also a fantastic line-up of local and international DJs.The concept of Shadow Wars grew from the world-wide phenomenon, Seven Shadows, the definitive breaking documentary currently up to its fifth edition. The documentary’s visionary creator, Mason Rose, is an accomplished Director and Film Editor who has followed and captured b-boys on film around the world for over 15 years.
