MF DOOM – REDBULL MUSIC ACADEMY
For those that know MF Doom well (KMD, one half of Danger Doom and Madvillan), will know about his illusive antics and mysterious real life presence, you’d know his history of failed shows and sending stunt doubles to rap for him at his own gigs. But, you’d also know that what he has brought to Hip-Hop music is completely irreplaceable; he is a crucial figure in the underpinnings of underground hip-hop and one of the biggest influences within the genre.
Seeing MF Doom in a one on one interview is somewhat of a rarity, so seeing Doom feature in a Red Bull Music Academy Lecture series capacity is an exciting prospect for any self respecting rap fan, or non-rap fan with an interest in interesting humans. No matter how much you think you know about him, you can never know enough about a dude who has been a complete hermit for so many years but creates nuggets of genius in the form of music. You will never see a session get as deep as this, he basically tells everything that ever happened from day 1!
