GETAWAYS: AMANYARA, TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS
Amanyara, Malcom’s Beach, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands +1 649 941 8133

LOCATION: The island of Providenciales, part of the Caicos islands in the British West Indies. Amanyara lies right on the shore of Malcom’s Beach, a secluded area on the north west point of the island with crystal clear waters.

ROOMS: 40 pavilions and villas

THE ROOM TO BOOK: The ocean pavilions are positioned on the beachfront, elevated 6 metres above the water, with private paths to the shoreline. Ocean Pavilion 115 has a particularly impressive view, and direct access to a sandy cove.

HIGHLIGHT: The barrier reef that runs along the entire north side of island can be found directly in front of the resort. While the beauty and tranquility of the resort may tempt you to stay poolside for much of the time, we suggest you visit the coral reefs that lie only 500 metres from the sand. Diving is a popular activity in Providenciales, or if you’d prefer a more casual reef experience, go for a snorkel and discover the various corals, fish, turtles and eagle rays at a more relaxed pace.

DINING: Classic Asian and modern Mediterranean dishes with an emphasis on fresh seafood can be found at Amanyara’s Restaurant. Have lunch on the sand at the private Beach Club, which has a simple grill menu combining the flavours of Asia with casual beach fare. The Beach Club also holds evening barbeques.

SPA: The spa, or ‘wellness facility’ is spread over one and a half acres, featuring four double treatment pavilions, relaxation pavilion and yoga sala. Choose from massages, scrubs and various beauty treatments from the spa menu, or perhaps a private yoga or pilates session. The resort offers a complimentary yoga session each morning.
RATES: Prices start from $1,250 US for a pavilion, and $3,750 for a 2 bedroom villa. Rates include private airport transfers, daily snorkel trips, yoga classes, private bar, afternoon tea, in-room wireless internet and all telephone calls.
