BELLE’S CHICKEN X HARPOON HARRY: THE LONG WEEKEND HANGOVER CURE
What better way to celebrate the Queen’s birthday (and your hangover) than to toast to her with a wine glass smothered in a layer of deep-fried grease? Back in 2014, Belle’s Chicken was born out of chef Morgan McGlone’s love for natural wines, Nashville’s iconic Cajun-style chicken, and vinyl-only hip hop. How the team pulled such culturally disparate ideas is anyone’s guess, but God dammit does it work.
Ringing in the New Year, the Belle’s Chicken pop-up at Sydney’s Icebergs Dining Room & Bar went off with such bang that they are now returning to takeover Surry Hill’s latest hang, Harpoon Harry’s. Word of advice: get in quick, because at Belle’s in Fitzroy it’s not uncommon to find an endless line of salivating punters waiting for their fix of deep-fried treats.
