AUSTRALIA’S BEST BEACHES
Australia is spoiled for beautiful beaches, anyone who has spent any time in the country knows that it boasts some of the finest in the world. With over 10,000 beaches stretching along 3000kms of coastline, it’s very hard to narrow them down, but here’s 10 we think are pretty exceptional.
Whitehaven Beach, Whitsundays, QLD
Blindingly white sands and pristine cerulean seas, Whitehaven is the very best in beach clichés. The fact that it’s only accessible by boat makes it all the more appealing.

Bondi Beach, Sydney, NSW
Say what you will but no list is complete without Australia’s most famous beach, where the water is nearly always perfect for swimming, especially at the very south and north ends. Bondi Beach has seen it all and continues to delight locals and tourists year in, year out.

Bells Beach, Victoria
Home to one of the world’s most renowned surfing contests, this is one for the board riders. With crashing waves and slightly chilly water, a wetsuit is often a must. For those less adventurous, stand and observe from the lookout.

Cable Beach, Broome, Northern Territory
Spanning an impressive 22.5 kms, this is often hailed as one of the most beautiful beaches on earth and rightfully so. The smooth azure seas are best seen at sunset with a camel ride.

Bilgola Beach, Sydney, NSW
Skip the crowds at “Palmy” by stopping just short of the playground of the rich and famous. Bilgola is a secluded gem with a shorter stretch of sand and far less people – just what we all want in a beach.

Bay of Fires, Tasmania
Located on the northeastern coast of Tasmania, this is a truly spectacular Australian beach. Pure white sand and crystal clear waters, with orange granite at its edges.

Wategos Beach, Byron Bay, NSW
For an instant sense of calm and a dolphin sighting or two, Wategos is a piece of paradise and a perennial Summer favourite. Walk around the headland for a swim at Clarke’s Beach, and if you want to keep enjoying this amazing stretch of sand, walk even further to Belongil.

Hyams Beach, Jervis Bay, NSW
Rumour has it these are the whitest sands in the world; whether that’s fact or fiction Hyams is a must-see for all sun seekers.

Little Cove, Noosa, Queensland
A tiny cove just before the national park in Noosa, Little Cove is a small oasis of pebbles and palm trees that makes for a perfect afternoon dipping spot.

Injidup Beach, Yallingup, Western Australia
Remote and oh so peaceful, with that rugged Western Australian edge, this beach is home to our favourite verbs – fishing, snorkelling, swimming and relaxing.
